How many CE hours do Oklahoma real estate agents need?
By Peter Levinson, OREC-Approved Real Estate Instructor · Updated July 22, 2026
Quick answer
Continuing education (CE) is how Oklahoma real estate agents keep their license active at each renewal. The number of hours you need depends on your license type and residency, and a portion of those hours must come from specific required categories.
Resident sales associates and broker associates: 30 hours
If you're affiliated with an Oklahoma-based brokerage, you're a resident licensee and need 30 hours per renewal. Of those, 13 hours are required coursework:
| Required category | Hours |
|---|---|
| Contracts & Forms | 6 |
| Professional Conduct | 3 |
| Broker Relationship Act | 1 |
| Code & Rules | 1 |
| Fair Housing | 1 |
| Hot Topic | 1 |
| Any category (including electives) | 17 |
Resident brokers: 30 hours
Resident brokers also need 30 hours, structured as a 15-hour Broker in Charge course, 6 hours of Contracts & Forms, and 9 hours in any category.
Non-resident licensees: 8 hours
Non-resident associates and brokers — those affiliated with an out-of-state brokerage who hold an active license in another state and complete their CE there — need 8 hours: 6 in Contracts & Forms, 1 in the Oklahoma Broker Relationship Act, and 1 in Oklahoma Code & Rules.
